This blog was created as part of an assignment for my Cinemtography class at Salt Lake Community College. Throughout the semester my instructor will be assigning various films to watch that he wants us to analyze for their use of cinematography elements that we have discussed and learned in class. He wants us to then write and blog about what we've experienced and learned from those movies.
That being said, this is NOT a movie review blog. I won't be going in to elaborate discussions of plot or ratings and content appropriateness if you're trying to decide to see the film or not. I will strictly be discussing cinematography elements such as lighting, lenses, focus, and camera movement and how they are used to tell the story.
I have posted some images from the films or links to YouTube for scenes that I discuss, but not the entire films. No copyright infringement is intended on my part. I just want to be able to add a visual reference to the things I have discussed in my blog posts that my poor words may not be able to describe adequately.
If you've stuck around this long to read all this, then I hope you will enjoy what I will post and share and that it helps to add to your own film viewing experience in the future.
